Annual NBMBAA Conference

Each year, BBA members attend the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) conference. Many are able to secure full-time and internship offers, others were successful in conducting first-round and final-round interviews. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to get a head-start on interviewing and recruiting for both internships and full-time employment.

Annual Kwanzaa Celebration

Each year, the BBA hosts the Tepper School Annual Kwanzaa celebration. Through the lighting of the Kwanzaa 7 candles, the celebration recognized The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa", or Nguzo Saba: Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith.

Black History Month B**rs Sponsorship

In celebration of Black History Month, the BBA sponsored Tepper's B**rs event. B**rs is a Tepper tradition in which students get together on Friday afternoon at school to unwind and relax after a long week of classes. BBA provided food for students, delivered a Black History Month presentation and engaged students in a Black History Month trivia game.

Diversity Speaker Series

The BBA Diverse Perspectives Speaker Series invites the Tepper and Carnegie Mellon community to experience the ultimate in cultural engagement. Our distinguished speakers share with the audience their unique experiences and perspectives on a wide variety of topics - from world affairs & politics, to history & the environment, to books & authors, to business & economics and the Arts. South Africa Trip

Each year, the BBA organizes a student trip to Sub-Saharan Africa in which Tepper and Heinz students and faculty visit prominent companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to learn about the political, social, and economic issues concerning doing business in Africa.

While on the trip, students and faculty also went to the bush (safari), sunbathed at the beach, and connect with Tepper School alumni who live and work in South Africa. Read about the origins of the South Africa Trip.
