Where I Live

Shadyside; 0.5 miles from campus. I share an apartment with other Graduate students at CMU. It's a large 3BR apt. Typically these apartments are used by families. My real estate agency has been quite prompt - Kamin Realty therefore I would recommend them.

My Favorite Places To Eat

I eat a lot of food on South Craig Street, Walnut Street and the University Trucks (Pitt as well as CMU).

Best Off-Campus Activities

I prefer the outdoors so I like to plan hiking or adventure trips over the weekends. I like to travel and therefore over the long weekends try to visit friends at neighboring cities - Ohio, NYC, Washington DC, Buffalo, Penn State etc.

Best Grocery Stores

I normally go to Giant Eagle - Market District. It has 2 stores; 1 in Shadyside and 1 in Squirrel Hill. There are other options which I don't frequent but are cheaper & decent quality: Farmer's Market at Strip District.

Best Gym

I exercise on Campus regularly (5 times a week on an avg.) - Gyms: Skibo for Weight training and the University Center (UC) Gym for cardio. I play Squash in the UC and Soccer in the summer outside in the lawns.

Top Attractions

Sports game: Penguins and the Steelers are Champion Teams. Primanti's is a Pittsburgh speacialty and can only be found here. Incline has a nice view and very touristy thing to do.

My Recommendation

Do a lot of extra activities other than your course work when you are here. Definitely take part in Case Competitions if you are interested in Consulting or if the topic of the case is related to your field.
