There is no such thing as a "typical" MBA student. He or she does not exist! Although our most recent class has a high proportion of students from engineering/science backgrounds, we are seeking candidates from all academic disciplines. Consider this: In a typical year, approximately half of our students come from non-technical backgrounds. (In other words, you don't need to be an engineer to achieve great things at the Tepper School!)
We are in the business of educating students who want to develop or hone their analytical skills and advance their leadership potential. Many of our incoming students consider themselves career switchers, seeking the necessary skills that allow for career advancement regardless of industry or function. Our curriculum is designed for mastery of foundational management skills in the first half, and the second half of the academic experience allows students to apply their newfound analytical and leadership skills via MBA Tracks, capstone courses as well as an impressive roster of electives.
Our class profiles reflect general backgrounds for our full-time MBA, part-time online hybrid MBA and part-time on-campus MBA students.
