Research Opportunities

The Tepper School's program in Business Technologies provides students with opportunities to gain experience both in formal model building and in empirical research.

Current research projects by faculty members associated with the Business Technologies program emphasize the evaluation of economic, organizational, and human impacts of information and communication systems; software development productivity and quality; economic impacts of information technologies; electronic markets and intermediaries; and Internet adoption and use; and management of IT human capital.

A distinguishing feature of the program is its emphasis on training high quality researchers. Doctoral candidates must develop teaching competence, but research is clearly the focus of the program. The business school has consistently placed its graduates as faculty members at leading universities and research centers. Most choose to remain in academic settings, but the flexibility of the program permits placement in industry and government as well.
