Career Exploration Treks

Beginning in the fall semester of your first year, career exploration treks are offered to provide you with a broad understanding of your career options and insight into the roles that MBAs play within each function of an organization (finance, operations, marketing and consulting). Participating in career exploration treks will help you to make informed decisions as you plan your career path and prepare for interviews.

Recent and upcoming treks include:

Graduate Finance Association New York Trek
Hosted by the COC and the Graduate Finance Association, students will travel to New York City to meet with approximately 20 companies, ranging from Investment Banks to Insurance Companies to Pharmaceutical companies. Over 120 students attend this trek each year.

Alpha Club Boston Trek
During this trek hosted by the Alpha Asset Management Club and the COC, students will travel to Boston to visit with asset management firms. Students who participate in this trek have the opportunity to learn more about the asset management business (both quantitative and fundamental) with companies including Fidelity, BNY Mellon, and Harvard Management Company. Approximately 20-25 students attend each year.

BioPharma & Healthcare Club Philadelphia Trek
This trek will be hosted by the COC and the BioPharma & Healthcare Club, a graduate student organization that seeks to create an engaged community of students interested in the biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and related healthcare fields. Approximately 10 to 20 students will visit 5 to 7 companies.

Business & Technology Club Treks To New York, Seattle & Silicon Valley
Each year, the Business & Technology Club partners with the COC to arrange treks to high tech regions. Previous company visits have included Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Medallia, eBay and other high-tech innovators.

Consulting Club Treks To New York City & Boston
Hosted by the Consulting Club and the COC, students will travel to Boston and New York City to meet with consulting companies. In previous years, attendees have visited companies such as Bain & Company, L.E.K. and Deloitte. Approximately 50 students attend this trek.

Asian Business Association Hong Kong Trek
Hosted by the COC and the Asian Business Association, the Hong Kong trek provides an opportunity for 10 to 20 students to meet with large financial services organizations.
