Career Opportunities Center
The Tepper School’s Career Opportunities Center (COC) offers an array of career services to help you in the planning, search, and acceptance phases of your career. We are not a job placement office or an executive search firm. However, we will work with you to understand your career goals, and then partner with you as a coach, strategic advisor, and accountability partner throughout your career search.
Your career results will be directly correlated with your own efforts, fueled by our ongoing efforts. Our goal is to prepare you to find a starting point for your career at large business employers within one of the four major corporate functions including general management:
-
Marketing: Across all industries
-
Finance: Financial Services and Corporate Finance across all industries
-
Consulting: Major firms and internal consulting positions within large companies
-
Operations: Across all industries
Working With The COC
Here’s how you can make the most of this partnership:
-
Attend two required meetings with an assigned counselor who will review your resume and conduct a mock interview.
-
Afterwards, schedule meetings with any counselor to get different perspectives and to ask for career assistance.
-
Walk-in if you just have a quick question. Walk-ins are 3-4:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and lasts 5-10 minutes. Please make an appointment for major topics like career exploration and resume reviews.
-
Participate in workshops co-produced by the COC and Student Clubs on career specific topics.
-
Read the weekly COC News Thread which features jobs for MBA and MSCF graduates and helpful resources, offers career search advice, and reports the latest placement statistics.
-
Continually check Tepper Symplicity, the software we use to run on-campus recruiting events and list job postings.
-
Participate in Career Fairs and/or COC-Student Club Treks. The COC staff accompany student clubs on treks to meet and network with employers who may not always come on-campus.
