Board Member Bios


Olugbenga (Olu) Ajala – President

Raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Olu Ajala holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. Prior to Tepper, he has worked within Chevron Corporation as an Electrical Project Engineer and Manager with increasing responsibilities over a 5 year period. He is still a full-time employee at Chevron, while enrolled in the Flex-Time program at Tepper. He is focusing on Strategy, Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. Olu also enjoys painting, martial art, music, learning other languages, and playing soccer.


Ndema Ojong – Vice President

Ndema Ojong graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics. He has spent most of his career working with both retail and commercial clients to resolve their financial issues. He’s focusing on Finance and Entrepreneurship here at Tepper. Ndema loves the summers but enjoys going snowboarding anytime he gets a chance. He has a hard time picking between football and Fùtbol as his favorite sport to watch, but loves to play the latter.


Ritesh (Tesh) Saraiya – VP of Finance

Ritesh Saraiya spent the early part of his childhood in India and migrated to USA with his family during high school. He received his B.S in Industrial & Systems Engineering and M.S in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and George Washington University, respectively. Prior to starting his MBA at Tepper, Ritesh gained several years of operations management experience working with cross-functional teams at Lockheed Martin, a large multinational organization. In addition, he was gain leadership experience in many aspects of sales, marketing and business development through his pro bono consulting at MvixUSA, a smaller entrepreneurial company. At Tepper, he is concentrating on Operations Management, Strategy and Organizational Behavior. This summer, Ritesh will be joining Amazon as an Intern in the Retail Leadership Development Program. Ritesh aspires to hold an executive management position where his contributions will help the organization succeed and benefit the society as a whole.


Cassy Cortez, VP of Alumni and Outreach

Cassy Cortez is the VP of Alumni and Outreach for African Business Collective. She also serves as the Vice President for both the Black Business Association and the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital club. Cassy graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. Prior to Tepper, she worked as a product development scientist for various medical device startups. She is pursuing the Entrepreneurship Track at Tepper along with a concentration in Marketing. Cassy is a Bikram Yoga enthusiast, a fan of fusion world cuisines, and an avid concert-goer.


LaShaina Shakes – VP of Operations

LaShaina Shakes is a native New Yorker concentrating in Strategy, Operations, and Organizational Behavior. Prior to Tepper, Shakes worked in cancer research managing Phase 1 clinical trials at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. During her undergraduate studies at the University at Albany in Albany, NY, she double majored in Biology and Mathematics. Post graduation, she is interested in continuing her career in healthcare and will pursue roles in BioPharma, focusing on Strategy and Business Operations. In addition to serving as the V.P. of Operations on the ABC board, Shakes is a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellow, Forte Fellow, and the President of Out&Allied. In her free time, she enjoys trying new and exotic foods, rollerblading, and exploring Pittsburgh.
