PhD Student Awards

There are three doctoral dissertation awards bestowed upon Tepper graduates each year at the diploma ceremony: 

• The William W. Cooper Doctoral Dissertation Award in Management or Management Science;
• The Herbert A. Simon Doctoral Dissertation Award in Behavioral Research in the Administrative Sciences; and
• The Gerald L. Thompson Doctoral Dissertation Award in Management Science

Additionally, there are several awards given to outstanding students at other times during the academic year:

• The Alexander Henderson Award for Excellence in Economic Theory
• The Gerald Salancik Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship
• The Egon Balas Award for Best Student Paper in Operations Research / Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization
