Throughout the academic year, three Pittsburgh and three New York students, in conjunction with the MSCF Executive Director, organize the MSCF Speaker Series. This series provides useful perspective for our students, not only with respect to applications of quantitative finance in the financial services industry (and an inside look at specific companies), but also regarding different career paths and areas of current research at some of the most prominent investment banks. Speakers usually present over lunch on Friday's, either in the New York or Pittsburgh MSCF facilities.
In addition, Professor Steve Shreve, MSCF Steering Committee representing the Math Department, brings a select group of those participating in the Math Speaker Series to speak and visit with the MSCF students in the MSCF classroom at the Tepper School of Business.
