CHICAGO— Two research papers authored by Tepper School Faculty and Ph.D. candidates have received Best Paper Awards at the 23rd Annual Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
Recognition as POMS 2012 Healthcare Best Paper is “Imaging Room and Beyond: The Underlying Economics Behind Physicians' Test-Ordering Behavior in Outpatient Services”, authored by Tinglong Dai, Ph.D. candidate in Operations Management/Robotics, Mustafa Akan, Assistant Professor of Operations Management; and Sridar R. Tayur, Ford Distinguished Research Chair and Professor of Operations Management. The College of Healthcare Operations Management of the POMS sponsors the annual competition to recognize research excellence in the field of Healthcare Operations Management.
Acknowledgement as the POMS 2012 Supply Chain College Best Student Paper is “New Functional Characterizations and Optimal Structural Results for Assemble-to-Order M-Systems”, authored by Emre Nadar, Ph.D. candidate in Operations Management, Mustafa Akan, Assistant Professor of Operations Management, and Alan Scheller-Wolf, Professor of Operations Management. Their paper was recognized for its contribution towards the advancement of theory and practice of supply chain management.
