The undergraduate business program organizes a mandatory annual etiquette dinner for freshmen as an introduction to basic professional development skills. Freshmen learn the polite and proper way to behave in a formal dinner setting — helpful during professional lunch meetings and interviews.
Several case competitions are offered to undergraduate business students annually. A case competition is an event in which teams of students have the opportunity to analyze real-life business problems and make recommendations to a panel of corporate executives and business leaders. The Tepper School organizes its annual case competition every fall, which is open to all undergraduate business students.
Each year the department selects students to represent the Tepper School at case competitions and conferences around the world. Students have traveled to California, Washington, D.C., New York, Georgia, Ohio, Qatar, Hong Kong and Germany.
Wednesday Night Insights is a career exploration program to provide students with the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers and industries. These sessions are held three times a semester and focus on industries, including finance, marketing, consulting, technology, entrepreneurship and more.
Waffle, Coffee and Professor is organized three times a semester. Students have the opportunity to mix with faculty to discuss courses and seek advice over waffles and coffee.
The Tepper Ball is an annual event held during the spring semester. Students gather for an evening of dining and dancing in a formal venue, while learning the proper social behavior expected at such an event.
The Tepper Venture Challenge is an annual business plan competition held by the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Association of the Tepper School of Business. This year, over 60 applications were received, representing a diverse range of ideas, schools and academic backgrounds.
