Executive Board

At Carnegie Mellon, our SCIO teams have been formed and molded by the expertise of many students and faculty members and are currently being led by the following graduate students:

SCIO's roots at Carnegie Mellon University were established due to the dedication of various Tepper students and commitment from professionals. Currently, the SCIO-CMU chapter is supported by these board members:

Nathan Jayappa, Executive Director
Tepper School of Business

Nathan is from Omaha, Nebraska and holds a bachelors degree in accounting and finance from the University of Minnesota. After working as a financial analyst at 3M, he spent time helping start up two companies in the medical and wellness industries. Nathan is now attaining a dual degree with an MBA and Masters in Public Policy at CMU. His summer internship is with the Environmental Defense Fund where he will advise DirecTV how to reduce green house gas emissions while driving up efficiency.

Nicolas Picard, Executive Director
Heinz College

Nicolas is a French international student pursuing his Masters in Public Policy and Management at the Heinz school. He holds a bachelor's degree in international development studies and all things development and consulting fascinate him. He spent a summer in Singapore working with a micro-business school that taught marketable skills to domestic helpers. He hopes that the future holds many more opportunities to work with such enterprises, along with opportunities for travel, international cuisine, cultural exchanges, and new friends. He will be completing a Corporate Social Engagement Fellowship at Changing Our World in New York this summer.

Dave Giebenhain.jpg

Dave Giebenhain,VP of Finance

Dave Giebenhain is one of SCIO’s finance officers, co-managing with Dave Lishego the club’s funds and fundraising activities. Dave is pursuing an MBA at the Tepper School of Business, transitioning from an engineering background to a career in management consulting. He also enjoys International travel and is looking forward to the 2012-2013 SCIO project to combine his interests in consulting and travel.

Dave Lishego, VP of Finance

Dave has a bachelor’s degree in physics and five years of research and technical consulting experience prior to business school. Presently, he is a second-year MBA student at the Tepper School of Business and will collaborate with Dave Giebenhain to manage the SCIO’s financial and fundraising activities.  Dave’s experience with SCIO in 2011-2012 and subsequent visit to Bogota, Colombia inspired him to join the Board and become more closely involved with the 2012-2013 project.

Sandeep Reddy Mannangi.jpg

Sandeep Reddy Mannangi, VP of Client Relations

Sandeep Reddy Munnangi is a Public Policy and Management student at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College. Originally from India, Sandeep holds a bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Before joining CMU he worked as a Consultant in Government Services and Advisory Practices at Ernst & Young for three years. Sandeep has experience working with central and state governments and donors in India, Nepal and Maldives and his interests are technology for development and governance and financial management reforms. This summer Sandeep will be working in Ghana, Africa to develop sustainable environmental practices for a university campus. Sandeep is an active student body member and is associated with Heinz International Development Group, Heinz Consulting Club and the Idea Lab.

Anlan Cai.jpg

Anlan Cai, VP of Operations

Anlan Cai is pursuing a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management at the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University. Originally from China, she graduated from Fudan University, Shanghai, with a B.A. in History. During her first year in Heinz, she did an internship in the City of Pittsburgh, Department of City Planning. During the summer, she is going to be a consultant for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cook Islands. Next semester, she will be a teaching assistant for the Strategic Presentation Skills class at Heinz, and a research assistant for Professor Alessandro Acquisti for Facebook privacy issues.

Tushar Bansal.jpg

Tushar Bansal, VP of Marketing

Tushar Bansal is a graduate student in Information Systems Management (MISM) at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to Carnegie Mellon, he worked with Infosys Technologies in the field of IT consulting. Apart from his professional experience, he has been actively involved in many social ventures in the past that includes founding a non-profit organization named ‘Drishti - Vision to Reality’ which aimed at spreading awareness about various social issues such as child illiteracy. Moving forward, he is excited to contribute in the field of consulting for non-profit.
