What does Pittsburgh have to offer?
Pittsburgh's calendar is full of year-round events that offer something for everyone - from riverside boating regattas to winterfests that showcase the state's 24 ski resorts. Take an afternoon to appreciate any of the city's 20 museums and galleries. The Pittsburgh social scene packs in dining, dancing, and partying amidst city blocks that are an exciting blend of food, shopping, and nightlife.
The Tepper School of Business is located in Oakland, a self-proclaimed cultural capital. Museums, international restaurants, shops, and theaters are all within walking distance, as are affordable housing and plenty of nightlife venues. Best of all, the fun combines with friendliness. Pittsburgh has been designated by Century 21 Real Estate as the safest city in the U.S. for populations exceeding one million residents.
How much does it cost to attend?
Hotel accommodations (double occupancy) and meals during the weekend will be paid by the Tepper School of Business. Travel to and from Pittsburgh and incidental expenses (personal phone calls, room service, hotel parking, etc.) are the responsibility of the participant.
What separates Diversity Weekend at Tepper from similar weekends at other schools?
Diversity Weekend at Tepper offers you a unique opportunity to explore Carnegie Mellon's MBA program. While experiencing the culture of our MBA program, you will have an opportunity to engage in a variety of workshops, panel discussions, class experiences, and social activities. You will also have an opportunity to interact with current students, faculty and alumni and fellow prospective students.
Who should attend Diversity Weekend?
Diversity Weekend at the Tepper School is a weekend for all prospective MBA students interested in
increasing the representation of women, the LGBT community, African Americans, Hispanic Americans
and Native Americans in business schools and leadership. Prospective students who are interested in starting the Tepper School of Business’ MBA program within the next year, as well as those people thinking about an MBA program in the future are welcome to attend.
