International Student Fellowships

The Fundación Mexicana Para la Educación (FUNED), a not-for-profit private foundation whose stated mission is to help Mexican college graduates develop their potential to become the leaders of a better tomorrow for their country, has agreed to provide loans for up to four students each year who are Mexican nationals and attend graduate programs at the Tepper School. The  eligibility for loan funds from FUNED may be up to $40,000 for a full-time MBA student and up to $30,000 for a full-time MSCF student. Information about FUNED loans may be obtained from the FUNED website.   

Full-time students who are eligible for FUNED loans may also be eligible for merit-based scholarships from the Tepper School. Candidates for these tuition reduction scholarships are reviewed during the regular admissions application process.

This fellowship has been instituted to honor Dr. Angel G. Jordan for his many contributions to Carnegie Mellon as Faculty, Department Head, Dean and Provost and a good friend to the Tepper School of Business where he taught MBA courses during 1992-1999. This fellowship will be awarded to a qualified citizen of Spain. This award is inclusive of full tuition and university fees for both years of the MBA program and applies only if the recipient matriculates in the year in which they are offered admission. Once a student has accepted admission to the MBA Program, this scholarship will be credited to the student’s account in equal disbursements to the Fall and Spring terms of both years of the program. To maintain scholarship eligibility in the second year of the program, the student will be required to achieve above-average academic performance (GPA of at least 7.0 “A-“ at the end of the first year), while maintaining a normal course load as a full-time student. In order to be reviewed for eligibility, one must submit their MBA application by January 3rd, 2013. There are no additional application steps. Applicants are reviewed during the Admissions application process and notified of eligibility via the acceptance notification process.

The Forte Foundation is funded by a consortium of leading business schools, companies and nonprofit groups and seeks to increase access to leadership careers, business education, and networks for women. In support of the goals of the Forte Foundation, The Tepper School of Business offers several Tepper School MBA Forte Scholarships to incoming full-time MBA candidates. The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship program provides citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan with the opportunity to pursue graduate study at the master's level in the United States. Students are chosen in the fields of business administration, economics, education, environmental management and policy, international affairs, journalism and mass communications, law, library and information science, public administration, public health, and public policy. The program provides full scholarships to participants, including university tuition, fees, room, board, health insurance, monthly stipend, book allowance, and international and domestic travel. Marc (MSIA 1975) and Sally Onetto established the Onetto Graduate Fellowship Fund in 1999 to support graduate students at the Tepper School of Business. Mr. Onetto’s goal is to maintain a European presence in the diversity of the student body at Tepper and expand the educational opportunities available to European and French speaking students. Preference for this fellowship is awarded to students from the European Union, particularly France, and native French speakers. As an endowment, the award amount will vary from year to year.

The Murat Ozyegin Fellowship offers up to $30,000 to a qualified full-time Turkish student who demonstrates extreme need for the first year of the MBA program.   Applicants must submit a one-page essay titled, "Why I Should Receive the Murat Ozyegin Fellowship." Applicants will also need to submit a release statement giving the school permission to forward information from their admission application to an outside agency for scholarship consideration. Applicants are encouraged to submit their essay and release statement along with their admission application prior to May 7, 2013. This full-time student fellowship is named in honor of Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber, a former professor and international chairman at Carnegie Mellon, French freedom fighter, French government official and founder of the French news weekly l'Express. This fellowship will be awarded to a qualified citizen of France.
