Mukhopadhyay Elected INFORMS Information Systems Society Distinguished Fellow For 2012

PHOENIX— Tridas Mukhopadhyay, the Deloitte Consulting Professor of e-Business at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, has been elected as the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) Information Systems Society (ISS) distinguished fellow for 2012. The award was announced during the Conference of Information Systems and Technology (2012) in Phoenix.
A prestigious honor in field of Information Systems, the ISS Distinguished Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding intellectual contributions to the discipline. The awards recognizes the multi-dimensional nature of intellectual contributions including published works that have made a significant impact on theory, research, and practice. It also recognized intellectual leadership in the discipline as reflected in editorial appointments and intellectual stewardship of the field as reflected in the mentoring of doctoral students and young researchers.
Noted as an excellent and widely published researcher, professor Mukhopadhyay’s recent work has focused the areas of e-business, IT value and the management of cyber security.
The Information Systems Society (ISS) supports the intellectual interests of information systems scholars who are members of INFORMS. In addition to providing support for academic forums such as the annual Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST) and the summer Statistical Challenges in E-Commerce Research (SCECR) conference, the society also provides support for editorial activities and publication of Information Systems Research.
