Minor in Business Administration

The Undergraduate Business Program offers a Minor in Business Administration to Carnegie Mellon students.

Fall 2013 Information sessions for the Business Minor will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Undergraduate Lounge (Tepper Room 132) on the following dates:

  • Friday, September 13
  • Friday, October 18
  • Friday, November 15

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR A MINOR IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION:

Students may apply for a minor in business provided they meet the following criteria:

  • 75 units/sophomore standing
  • Have completed at least two classes counting toward the BA Minor with a QPA of 3.0 or higher.

Please download and complete the Application Form: Minor in Business Administration. Please turn it in, along with a copy of your academic audit, to the undergraduate business office, room 139, located in the Tepper School of Business (GSIA Building). Applications accepted/approved on a rolling basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

The minor in business administration requires a total of six courses. Please note: some courses have prerequisites that might include specific mathematics or other business courses. Prerequisites must be completed in order to enroll in these courses. Students may not take any courses for the minor as pass/fail. Students may receive credit for one course from another institution, which must be approved by the Undergraduate Business program prior to taking the course.

Required Courses:

  • 70-381 Marketing
  • 73-100 Principles of Economics

Additional Courses:

Students may choose any other four #70-xxx courses to complete the minor. (Note: Due to high demand, specific business courses cannot be guaranteed to students pursuing a minor.)
