Eric L. Butler is Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales with Union Pacific Corporation. Eric is responsible for Union Pacific's six major business units: agriculture, automobiles, chemicals, energy, industrial products and intermodal. He also oversees the company's National Customer Service Center. Prior to accepting to this position in March 2012, Eric had served as Vice President and General Manager, Industrial Products since 2005. He joined the railroad in 1986 and held a number of positions, including: Vice President and General Manager, Automotive; Vice President, Supply; Vice President, Planning & Analysis; and Director, Corporate Compensation.
Eric earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1981 and an M.S. degree in Industrial Administration in 1986, both from Carnegie Mellon, where he currently serves on the Tepper School of Business Alumni Board. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council and serves on the boards of the Children’s Hospital, the Omaha Airport Authority, and the Empowerment Network. In addition, Eric is an ordained minister serving the Joy of Life Ministries in Omaha, Nebraska.
