Applicants who are not citizens of English speaking countries, or who did not receive a degree from an institution where the language of instruction was English, must prove their proficiency in English by submitting one of the following tests with their application:
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL scores can be sent by ETS to the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University using institutional code 2074 and department code 02.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Indicate 'Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business' as the score recipient.
International applicants who hold a degree from an institution where the primary language of instruction was English are eligible to waive the TOEFL. Applicants should send a letter requesting the waiver along with their application packet.
