BS Information Systems & MBA 3/2 Program

Students will take their regular IS curriculum throughout The MBA will only be awarded if the BSIS degree requirements are fulfilled. The BSIS degree will be awarded in May of a student’s 4th year, if all undergraduate coursework is completed at that time. In year 4, the Fall semester will include the 12 unit IS senior project course. The normal unit requirement for the MBA degree is 192 units. However, 30 units of undergraduate coursework will count towards the MBA elective requirements.

Deadline & Requirements

Carnegie Mellon undergraduates should apply via Tepper's online application system by January 31st of their junior year. Please take care to submit the following application materials:

  • Essays - 4 required, 1 optional
  • GMAT or GRE score (highest total score considered)
  • Resume and work history (detailing previous internship experiences, as well as leadership and team positions on campus and in the community).
  • Letters of Evaluation (2 required, 4 accepted - suggested recommenders are internship supervisors or those that may have supervised campus or community activities in which you participated).
  • Verification of eligibility by the BSCS office (taken care of by the Masters Admissions Staff).
  • Interview with MBA Admission Committee member (arranged by the Admissions office after you submit your application & all components)
  • Application fee waived for Carnegie Mellon applicants!

Eligibility

Eligibility is based upon approval by the H&SS Program Office assuming you are in good academic standing and on track to complete your BSIS requirements on time.  In addition, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of the Fall of junior year and have completed at least 1 company internship prior to applying.
