BIOGRAPHY

Laurie R. Weingart is the Carnegie Bosch Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory and Senior Associate Dean - Education at the David A. Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. She earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1989. Dr. Weingart’s research examines negotiation, conflict, and innovation in teams. Her early research focused on group processes and on social motives and tactical behavior in negotiation. Her more recent research examines cognition, conflict, emotion, and innovation in cross-functional teams. Prof. Weingart has published over 50 articles and book chapters in the fields of management, social psychology, industrial psychology, and cognitive psychology. Dr. Weingart served as Chair of the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management (2001), the President of the International Association for Conflict Management (2003-2004), and the Founding President of the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research (2007 – 2012). She is currently the co-editor of the Annals of the Academy of Management .
