The study of entrepreneurship provides students with far more than the tools necessary to start a business; it spurs students' development as leaders and innovators in whatever field they choose. The Donald H. Jones Center teaches students to think like entrepreneurs, solve problems and create solutions.
Students motivated to be agents of change, to drive growth and to innovate in organizations of all sizes, can hone their skills and make essential business connections through the study of entrepreneurship.
Our graduates satisfy their entrepreneurial drive in many ways: starting a venture, joining an emerging company, bringing an entrepreneurial perspective to corporations or acquiring a business right after graduation. Other opportunities are found in the venture capital/private equity industry, consulting sector and especially through social and "Clean Tech" entrepreneurial endeavors.
The Entrepreneurship MBA
In keeping with Carnegie Mellon's interdisciplinary strengths, Entrepreneurship MBA students collaborate closely with the entrepreneurship faculty, researchers and other students within our top-ranked engineering, fine arts, computer science, robotics and design schools.
Non-MBA graduate students wanting to partake in entrepreneurship courses can also pursue this option at Carnegie Mellon.
While the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship's undergraduate and graduate courses provide a strong foundation for students who study entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon, serious students must supplement their academic work with the plentiful experiential learning opportunities available within Carnegie Mellon and the Pittsburgh region. Our programs give participants valuable, practical and unique perspectives on careers in entrepreneurship and venture capital.
