Course Description

The world and its workforce are becomingly increasingly diverse and multicultural. This course is designed to introduce students to the benefits and challenges of diversity in organizations.  Some of the topics covered include: diversity in groups and teams, diversity as a catalyst for creativity and innovation, diversity in leadership, developing cultural competency, cross-cultural management and negotiation, and understanding and managing difficulties and conflicts arising from diversity.  We will examine the topic of diversity through real-world cases, empirical research, and interactive exercises. Grading will be based on attendance and participation, a midterm essay exam, and a final paper.  (11/12)
