Meet our team:
Kelly R. Wilson – Executive Director of Masters Admissions.
Kelly joined the Masters Admissions team in August of 2012. In her role as executive director, she brings more than 15 years of admissions and recruiting experience to the Tepper School. Prior to her experience in higher education, Kelly worked as a strategic change consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and an account executive for Johnson & Higgins of Washington, D.C. Kelly holds a BA in psychology from Grove City College, an MBA from George Mason University and an MS-MIS degree from University of Pittsburgh. Kelly has traveled to more than 30 countries and loves to learn about new cultures. One tip Kelly offers is that much can be learned about a different society by visiting the neighborhood grocery store, which she does each time she arrives in a new place.
James Frick – Director of Masters Admissions.
James joined the Tepper Admissions team in 2003 after serving as associate director for MBA programs. James assists in all phases of the admissions process and also takes lead roles in recruiting initiatives. He has worked at the Tepper School since 1998. James holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA from Radford University and is currently (ever so slowly) pursuing his doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He welcomes advice on training overly-active dogs and is a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gwen Stanczak – Director of Masters Admissions.
Gwen joined the Masters Admissions team in 2003. Gwen has been with Carnegie Mellon since 2000, having held positions in enrollment services as well as the assistant director of undergraduate programs in the department of electrical and computer engineering. Gwen holds a dual BA in psychology and spanish from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon. Gwen takes a lead role in admissions operations and is available to discuss all aspects of the application process with prospective MBA and MSCF students. She is an avid reader and enjoys cooking all types of cuisine.<[p>
Ryan Astor – Associate Director of Admissions.
Ryan joined the Masters Admissions team in August of 2014. In his role as Associate Director, Ryan works with various recruitment initiatives with a focus on diversity. Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon University, Ryan served as a Regional Recruiter for the University of Alabama. He holds a BA in Communications from California University of PA and a MA in Higher Education from Geneva College. Ryan spends most of time with his two children. He also enjoys exploring Pittsburgh, watching and playing sports, traveling and anything food related.
Emily Archambeault – Assistant Director.
Emily joined the Masters Admissions team in May 2014. In her role as an assistant director, Emily assists in our recruitment initiatives and campus visits. She also works closely with women’s recruitment and the Forté Foundation. Emily is eager to meet interested students and help them through the application process. She holds a dual BA in American studies and political science from the University of Virginia and an MA in higher education administration from the University of Michigan. Emily enjoys exploring Pittsburgh, trying new restaurants, listening to This American Life, watching football and baseball, reading memoirs and taking neighborhood walks to get ice cream.
Jackie Jones – Assistant Director of Masters Admissions.
Jackie joined the Masters Admissions team in 2012. In her current role as an assistant director, Jackie assists with outreach initiatives. She holds a BS from Eastern Michigan University and an MS in education from Indiana University, Bloomington. Jackie enjoys running marathons, rowing in the summer with a local crew team and many other outdoor activities in the Pittsburgh region.
Debbie Macedonia – Assistant Director of Masters Admissions.
Debbie joined the Masters Admissions team in 2013. In her role as an assistant director, Debbie assists with our admissions operations and works with interested MBA and MSCF students throughout the application process. She has two BAs from Virginia Tech in economics and international studies as well as an MBA from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. She enjoys traveling, watching college sports and exploring Pittsburgh.
Judy Nardiello – Office Manager.
Judy joined the Masters Admission team in January 2014. She brings ten years of MBA admissions experience to her role as office manager. In many cases, Judy will be the first point of contact with prospective MBA and MSCF candidates. Judy holds a BS degree in education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and was an elementary school teacher early in her career. Judy enjoys British mysteries, her cats and spoiling her grandchildren.
Dana Lovas – Masters Admissions Coordinator.
Dana joined the admissions team in 1987. She has held a variety of positions over the years and her current responsibilities include processing and tracking applications through each stage of the admissions process and providing information to our applicants. Dana is also responsible for the coordination of foreign student I-20’s by processing the pertinent forms and working with the Office of International Education to ensure that our foreign students receive their I-20’s in a timely fashion. Dana's experience in admissions makes her a valuable asset to our office and to our applicants. She is able to answer most questions you may have regarding the application process.
Alesha Simpson – Masters Admissions Coordinator.
Alesha joined the Masters Admissions Team in September of 2006. She is responsible for processing and tracking MSCF applications through each stage of the process, providing information to our applicants, and scheduling interviews and visits for the Computational Finance Program. She processes the Consortium applications, and she leads the coordination of foreign MSCF student I-20’s by processing the pertinent forms and working with the Office of International Education to ensure that our foreign students receive their I-20’s in a timely fashion.
Jay Cusick – Graduate Assistant to Masters Admissions.
Jay joined the Masters Admissions team in 2013 and will be with the office for the next two years assisting with the office's marketing and outreach initiatives. He is currently in his second year of study toward his Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration - Student Affairs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He holds his Bachelor's degree in Theology and Theatre from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He loves all things southern, nautical, and fitness oriented.
