Alex Keith, vice president, North America Fabric Care, P&G, spoke to Tepper School students and staff on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.
Alex Keith is P&G’s Vice President of Fabric Care in North America and Fabric Enhancers worldwide. Her multi-billion dollar portfolio includes iconic brands like Tide®, Downy®, Gain®, Dreft® and Bounce®, which are used by millions of people around the world to clean and care for their clothes.
Throughout her 25-year career, Ms. Keith has been the architect of some of the company’s most memorable marketing campaigns and product innovations – including the reinvention of Old Spice®, which modernized the brand among teens; the creation of Olay Complete moisturizer, which became a catalyst for women using sunscreen every day; and the launch of Secret Clinical Strength®, which introduced women to a prescription-level antiperspirant.
Ms. Keith has developed a reputation as a game-changer with an ability to redefine the categories in which her businesses compete. In 2011, she introduced Downy Unstopables®, a new-to-the-world collection of in-wash scent beads that enhance the fragrance of garments; and in 2012, she launched the award-winning Tide Pods®, the first single-dose laundry detergent packet in the North America.
Outside of work, she sits on the board of directors for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center museum. She is also an avid runner and serves on the board of directors for Girls on the Run of Cincinnati, a non-profit organization that uses running to promote confidence and well-being in young girls.
