Biography

Bennet Omalu is a Nigerian born physician who holds eight degrees and professional certifications including an MBA from the Tepper School of Business. Among other accomplishments, Dr. Omalu was the physician who discovered and named Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy [CTE] in football players, wrestlers and military veterans beginning in 2002 when he performed an autopsy on Pittsburgh Steelers great Mike Webster. He single handedly brought this disease to light in spite of vilifying opposition from the NFL and other doctors. Dr. Omalu’s work has been featured in every media platform nationally and internationally, and in December 2015 he was featured in a motion picture, Concussion, in which Will Smith played Dr. Omalu.
