Edward Stack on Retail’s “Seismic Change”

Edward Stack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dick’s Sporting Goods since 1984, leads the largest, full-service sporting goods retailer in the country. He has led this Fortune 500 Corporation through a remarkable period of growth from just two stores in upstate New York to 603 Dick’s Sporting Good’s stores, 80 Golf Galaxy stores in 46 states and two new concepts, Field & Stream and TrueRunner.

Mr. Stack has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his highly successful 30+ years of leading Dick’s Sporting Goods, including his induction into the National Sporting Goods Association Hall of Fame. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation and the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Advisory Board of Wharton’s Jay H. Baker Retailing Initiative.

Mr. Stack graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
