Junyong (Daniel) Choi graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Engineering Physics. During his undergraduate study, his concentration on Applied Mathematics triggered his passion in applying mathematics to the financial field. He interned at a proprietary trading firm based in Chicago and Frankfurt. As an assistant trader, he assisted option traders by providing volatility skews, and conducted in-depth research of risk and profitability of various hedging strategies during times of financial panic. Later, he gained insights into the asset management market and risk analysis as a risk management intern at a Korean asset management firm. In his spare time, he actively manages a personal account trading in the Korean stock market. These exposures to the financial market motivated him to join the MSCF program in hopes of polishing his quantitative skills to pursue a career in trading or asset management.
