Chenrui (Rick) Gao earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics of Finance & Risk Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2014. He graduated with honors and was a recipient of the James B. Angell Scholar Award. He participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program and conducted an individual research project on Binary Matrix Completion Theory. He interned with a leading insurance company in China in the Product Development Group and later with CITIC Securities in its Investment Banking Division. Prior to joining the MSCF program, Chenrui interned in the quant trading team, implementing trading strategies using Apama, a market-leading trading platform, at Galaxy Securities. He also interned in the Fixed Income Department of a large investment bank in China. Chenrui joined the MSCF program to further develop his quantitative skillset of mathematics, statistics and programming as well as enrich his financial knowledge. Upon graduating, he wishes to seek a career in quantitative research or trading.
