Yunyi (Elaine) Liao graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Automation from Tsinghua University. During her undergraduate study, she interned at General Electric as a project manager collaborating with cross regional and cross functional teams, which ended up triggering a passion in understanding and analyzing the global market. She then worked at Great Wall Securities and assisted the team to successfully issue the private placement bond for GOME Company. Later, she interned as a research assistant in Tongxin Securities Fixed Income Division, where she used Matlab to analyze China’s Business cycle and also calculate the portfolio of interest rate swap. Elaine joined the MSCF program to leverage her quantitative skills and gain deeper insights of the financial markets. She hopes to pursue a career in trading, structuring or quantitative research.
