David Magnollay graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Operations Research and Statistics Concentration). His exposure to computational finance courses as an undergraduate facilitated his strong passion for this unique application of mathematics and statistics. He interned at Amberstone Capital Management in 2013, helping conduct research on trade execution strategies in the FX markets with the goal of minimizing slippage. After David gained experience in the financial industry, the level of knowledge needed in mathematics, statistics, finance, and programming to become a successful quantitative researcher became apparent. He decided to pursue the MSCF program as he felt it offered the exact tools needed to accomplish this feat.
