Swathi Sampath graduated with distinction from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Dubai Campus in 2015. While there, she was able to channel her analytical and quantitative skills to solve various financial problems, including one which resulted in a research paper she co-authored in the field of credit risk modeling and one that formulated a time series prediction model which used Artificial Neural Networks to forecast stock prices. Swathi interned at Siemens L.L.C in the Commercial Finance department where she received training on project risk management and assisted senior team members in preparing commercial offers for major local building projects. Swathi’s work experience includes utilizing Monte Carlo simulations to perform quantitative risk analysis on various construction projects to determine the risk of cost overrun. Swathi joined the MSCF program to train in mathematical finance and acquire skills that would enable her to better understand financial problems and take on greater professional responsibilities. Upon completion of the program, Swathi wishes to work in quantitative research or risk management.
