Danlu (Diane) Xia graduated first honors from Hunan University, China with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in 2015. In her undergraduate study, she received comprehensive training in mathematics and statistics. She also applied her skills to research projects regarding logistics and cancer classification. During her internship at Guolian Securities in China, Diane encountered a series of risk models and was impressed by the idea to compress market variables into a meaningful figure. After talking to some industry professionals, she decided to study the mathematical models used in the financial industry. Diane joined the MSCF program to enhance her quantitative and programming skills to pursue a career in risk modeling or asset management.
