Dinghao (William) Yin graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with an Honored Bachelor in Applied Mathematics and a minor degree in Finance. He also studied at Columbia for a semester as an exchange student. Dinghao’s undergrad study focused on statistics where he completed various projects including risk modeling, volatility estimation and machine learning. His first internship was in UBS quant team where he worked on exotic equity products, doing data analysis, pricing and setting up templates for the traders. Later he switched to the buy-side, interning at two hedge funds and rotating between quant research, equity research and commodity research. Exposed to different products and different strategies, Dinghao developed a strong interest in the market and hopes to pursue a career in trading or strategy after graduating from MSCF.
