Yang (Joy) Zhao graduated from National University of Singapore in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science (first class honor) in Quantitative Finance and Statistics. She was awarded the Singapore National Academy of Science Award for her outstanding performance in mathematics. After graduation, Joy joined The Royal Bank of Scotland as a risk management analyst, where she gained a comprehensive understanding of risks banks are facing and was exposed to a wide range of investment bank businesses through rotations in regulatory risk, credit risk, market risk and model validation. For the next year, Joy worked at Barclays Capital’s structured products division to acquire practical knowledge of exotic/structured products. Joy joined the MSCF program to further develop her quantitative skills. She intends to pursue a career in structuring, quantitative research, asset management and risk management.
