All Tepper School/GSIA alumni (and their guests) – regardless of year or program – are invited to attend Reunion Weekend. Each year, we highlight specific MBA/MSIA-reunion milestones and in 2014 we will be celebrating those ending in 4’s and 9’s. The Tepper School also highlights the most recent graduating class celebrating their one-year reunion.
Spouses, children, and other special guests of alumni are invited to attend all components of the weekend.
Alert the Office of Alumni Relations to your interest in being a class committee volunteer by completing the reunion volunteer registration form or by sending an email to Alumni Relations. The Tepper School of Business aims to establish class committees by early fall, however, alumni are welcome to join their class committee at any point during the year.
Reunion is a time to relax among friends and celebrate! It is generally a casual weekend, however, most alumni choose to dress-up (“cocktail attire”) for the special Saturday evening All-Class Reunion Celebration which is a reception-style dinner. View last year’s reunion photos to get a sense of what alumni chose to wear for the 2013 reunion.
The Saturday evening all-class celebration is the capstone event of Reunion Weekend. The menu includes passed hors d'oeuvres, assorted beverages, and a reception-style dinner. Brief remarks will be delivered by both the Dean of the Tepper School and the Executive Director of Alumni Relations. Music will be played throughout the evening. Class photographs are taken by the event photographer during this reception.
The meal is served via dinner stations to allow you to continue to move around the room and mingle with your classmates. While the meal is not formally seated and served, some table-seating will be available for those who wish to utilize it and highboy tables are also dispersed throughout the room for dining convenience.
Carnegie Mellon University offers a Kidzone on campus on both Friday and Saturday, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Frew Street location in the morning, Midway in the afternoon). At Kidzone, children will receive a free t-shirt, have an opportunity to get into an old buggy, and enjoy coloring activities. There will be stuffed scotty dog toys for the little kids and robot kits for the older kids. Moreover, buggy and other Carnival attractions may also be appealing to older children. View the CMU schedule of events, for more information on these activities.
VisitPittsburgh’s Kidsburgh website is dedicated to showcasing children’s activities in the area. Here are highlights of just a few of the city’s local attractions:
On-site childcare at Heinz Field will be provided by Sweet Dreams Childcare, LLC, as an option for parents to consider for their children through age 12 during the Saturday (April 12) evening all-class reception. A children’s meal along with age-appropriate games and activities will be provided. If you plan to utilize the on-site service provider, you must register by March 31. Please note, childcare registration is now closed.
We want to make sure Reunion Weekend is enjoyable, welcoming and accessible for all alumni, students, and their guests. If you or any of your guests have special needs, please let us know.
Last year, reunion-year alumni gave an average gift of $1,000. We encourage all reunion celebrants to give a gift at the W.L. Mellon Society level ($1,000+) in honor of their reunion milestone however participation at any level is most important.
The CMU University Store carries a variety of branded items, including Tepper School gear and a selection of books authored by faculty. The store will be open 8:30 am - 7 pm on Friday, April 11, and 10 am - 7 pm on Saturday, April 12.
