Board Member Bios


Uzma Khan, Tepper Cares Committee Chair

Uzma is originally from India. She graduated from HBTI, India with a Bachelor of Technology degree in chemical engineering in 2006. She has cross industry experience in providing technology solution and worked for Dell Services, software service offering of Dell computers and CenturyLink Telecommunications. At Tepper she is pursuing Operations Management, Strategy, and Organizational behavior concentrations.  Uzma has a passion for giving back to the community and been actively involved in volunteering for social causes since her under graduation days. As a Tepper Cares Committee Chair, Uzma hopes to make the Tepper Community’s experience more fulfilling by creating platform for students to participate even beyond the academics.


Harsha Hegde, Tepper Cares Education & Fundraising Chair

Harsha Hegde graduated from Visveswaraiah Technological University, India with a major in Electronics and Communications. Prior to Tepper, Harsha worked in the software industry in India for 6 years. The last four years, he worked at Oracle developing enterprise products and solutions. His passion for volunteering developed during his time as a Boy Scout and he was a part of Oracle Volunteers in India. As the Education & Fundraising Chair, he hopes to involve the Tepper Community in improving facilities at local schools as well as making the students realize the importance of higher education.


Jesse Lambert, Tepper Cares Mentorship Chair

Jesse Lambert graduated from Boston University with a BS/BA in Finance and Operations Management.  Prior to arriving at Tepper, Jesse worked for Bank of America in retail banking as well as for two start-ups in the professional basketball industry.  At Tepper, he is pursuing a role with a professional sports team.  Jesse's passion for Tepper Cares began when he became involved with the Mentorship Program - after many years as a camp counselor he relishes the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and see them grow.  As the Mentorship Committee Chair, Jesse hopes to expand the size of the program while also encouraging more events where mentors and mentees can get together.


Gabriela Blumberg, Tepper Cares New Initiative Chair

Gabi Blumberg is the Tepper Cares New Initiatives Chair. She also serves on the board for the Jewish Business Association as the Vice President of New Initiatives. Gabi graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies. Prior to Tepper she worked in the Entertainment and Technology industries in various roles focused on international business development in the commercial, defense, and education sectors. Gabi is looking forward to contributing her extensive community service experience to increasing Tepper Care’s reach within the Pittsburgh community and the impact Tepper students can make within it.

Umair Khalid, Tepper cares Engagement Chair

Umair Khalid graduated from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan with a Bachelor of Computer System Engineering. Umair has worked in telecommunication industry for six plus years in various roles in Pakistan, Middle East and Europe. He cofounded a nongovernment organization in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan providing rehabilitation services for the disabled people. At Tepper, he is pursuing concentrations in finance, strategy and operations. Umair is passionate about projects that can create a positive impact on the community. As Tepper Cares Engagement Chair, Umair plans to implement initiatives that involve Tepper community to work closely with various nonprofits in Pittsburgh on projects that will assist the community.
