Four Students Represent Tepper School at Georgetown University Case Competition

Seniors, Alvi Hasan and April Jianto, and juniors, Shannon Ho and Susanna Park, recently participated in a case challenge at the McDonough School of Business of Georgetown University. They competed with top business students from around the world to develop solutions for the real-world business problem of a non-profit client.

This year’s case was presented by National Industries of the Blind (NIB). The organization, devoted to providing employment opportunities to the blind, is struggling in a rapidly changing environment. Hasan noted, “The NPO was really having a business problem – the case could have applied to any business.”

Tepper’s team worked hard over the course of this three-day endeavor to craft a solution for NIB and they learned a great deal from the experience and from their competitors. “We saw what we did well and what we needed to work on. We were able to better critique ourselves based on how these other intelligent students performed”, noted Park.
