Two freshmen in the Tepper School, Radhika Dalal, and George Qian, attended the Undergraduate Business School Leadership Conference at Emory University. They spent three days attending leadership workshops, learning from industry professionals, and participating in a case competition.
There was only one other freshman in attendance. Dalal noted, “The Undergraduate Business advisers felt that, as freshman, we could take a lot from the conference and bring it back to our business school.” Both students reflected on how the conference inspired them to become active leaders at Carnegie Mellon. Qian focused on the example set by the professionals who spoke, “They all stressed how they were successful because they did something that they loved and they encouraged us to do so in our leadership roles.”
