TEACHING Track Position in Business Analytics

Position Description
The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University invites applicants for a teaching-track position in Business Analytics to begin in fall 2024. The teaching track at Carnegie Mellon is a full-time faculty position subject to a tri-annual review and promotion process, and has assistant professor, associate professor, and professor ranks.  All levels will be considered for this position, but we particularly seek applicants at the assistant or associate professor level. Prior teaching experience is required for this position. While teaching track faculty can pursue research activities, they are neither required nor expected to do so; their evaluation is based on teaching, educational, and service contributions.

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in a discipline related to Business Analytics, including data science, machine learning, operations research, statistics, industrial engineering, computer science, economics, or information systems.  The ideal candidate has the ability to bridge analytics methodology and business applications in fields such as finance, marketing, or operations. Teaching assignments may span all our educational programs including the MBA, MS in Business Analytics, MS in Management, MS in Product Management, and Undergraduate Business programs. Candidates must demonstrate a potential for and commitment to teaching excellence.

Economics Faculty Tenure-Track Positions

Position Title: Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor openings in Economics commencing Fall 2024.

Position Description: The Tepper School of Business (https://www.cmu.edu/tepper) at Carnegie Mellon University invites qualified individuals to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in Economics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commencing Fall, 2023. Applicants at the Assistant level should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. degree in Economics and should have potential for excellence in research and teaching in economics. Applicants at the Associate level should have a Ph.D. degree in Economics and an outstanding record of excellence in research and teaching in economics. Candidates from all fields of economics will be given consideration. Teaching assignments encompass undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. David T. and Lindsay J. Morgenthaler
Professorship in Entrepreneurship 

Applications are invited for the David T. and Lindsay J. Morgenthaler Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Tepper School of Business of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) commencing September 1, 2023. 

The Morgenthaler chair was established to deepen and enrich the research, teaching and practice of entrepreneurship at the Tepper School. Pittsburgh is home to a vibrant entrepreneurship community well-connected with CMU. The University-wide Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, established by a $30 million gift from CMU alum Jim Swartz, founder of Accel, is housed in the Tepper Quadrangle with the Tepper School.

The holder will be expected to demonstrate a major role in scholarship in areas overlapping with entrepreneurship, and have experience with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Applicants at Tenured Associate or Full Professor level will be considered. The holder is expected to play a leading role in furthering the development of entrepreneurship at Tepper and CMU.

Candidates that are cross disciplinary are particularly encouraged to apply. The search committee comprises of Brandy Aven (Organizational Theory, Strategy and Entrepreneurship), Peter Boatwright (Marketing), Dave Mawhinney (Entrepreneurship), Chester Spatt (Finance) and Sridhar Tayur (Operations Management, committee chair).
