True integration – the type that forever changes companies and creates new categories – is no small task.  Most universities are not set up to handle genuine collaboration.  They’re too big, too slow or too compartmentalized.

Carnegie Mellon University has a culture and infrastructure that is decidedly small, obsessively nimble and passionately curious.  We love to solve problems that others cannot, and we usually accomplish this feat via dynamic collections of multi-disciplinary teams that are focused on cutting-edge ideas and methodologies that create new products and services, and, ultimately, serve as a role models and inspirations for how innovation occurs.

One of the graduate degrees that embodies the powerful Carnegie Mellon DNA is the Master of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services.  A one-year degree, this one-of-a-kind program has been working with corporations for more than a decade on path-breaking prototyping assignments that have earned patents and global rankings recognition as a Top 3 Product Design program by Businessweek and U.S. News & World Report.

The Tepper School of Business is proud to be one of program’s three partner schools, alongside the university’s top-ranked College of Engineering and the College of Fine Arts.  Likewise, MBA students are able to concentrate their studies via an MBA Track focused on integrated product development.  The MBA Track, called Management of Innovation and Product Development, provides opportunities to work with MII-PS graduate students as well as sponsoring corporations on new products and market entry plans.

Students who would like to pursue a degree that advances career opportunities in product development, brand marketing, industrial/product design, innovation and design thinking, as well as design strategy and consulting are encouraged to contact admissions-iii@andrew.cmu.edu for more information or to arrange a visit to the Carnegie Mellon campus for a personal tour of the new Integrated Innovation Institute.
